FITNESS SESSION

Qigong

Pronounced “chee-gong,” Qigong is an ancient Chinese health practice over five thousand years old. With Qigong, it’s all about increasing internal energy (Qi) flow by opening up the body’s pathways through consistent effort (Gong). Not to be confused with tai chi, which emphasizes full-body movements performed in a sequence. In this fitness session, you'll tap into your spiritual side through slow-flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm state of mind. Cultivate your life force through what’s known as moving meditation.

FITNESS SESSION

Tai Chi, Meditation in Motion

Tai Chi Chuan, or Tai Chi, is a self-paced physical meditation practice. Focused on deep breathing and a series of slow, focused movements, Tai Chi is all about flow. In this fitness session, you'll learn how each posture moves into the next in a seamless, constant motion. More gentle than, say, power yoga, but more active than traditional meditation, Tai Chi boosts mood, creates balance, and improves stamina. Think of it as a mix between mindfulness, stretching, and noncompetitive martial art.

Trigger Point Massage to Loosen Muscles (Tools included)

Overuse, bad posture, and repetitive motions can cause muscle knots. These painful, tender spots in muscle tissue are called myofascial trigger points, and they can limit your daily activities. In this fitness session, attendees will learn how to release muscle tension through self massage using a lacrosse ball or foam roller. Trigger point massage helps restore muscle function and alleviate pain typically found in areas like the lower back, neck, or shoulders. Virtual attendees receive a gift card to purchase a sports tool in advance and onsite attendees will receive a sports tool upon arrival.
